Get a taste of Latin America at these restaurants!

Sydney's diversity is best reflected in its many restaurants. You can find any cuisine you want and go on a world tour without leaving the city. For something different, we recommend exploring a few of Sydney's Latin American eateries.

Whether you love exploring new foods, are hungry to travel to Latin America, or just need some ideas for great places to eat during your stay in Sydney, check out these hot spots.

1. Porteno

You can tell this is an Argentinean restaurant by the parilla grills and fire pits with pigs skewered above them. There is even a wood-fired oven that spits out baked chickens and cheeses.

This classic restaurant has an enjoyably Latino ambience and no shortage of hearty food, plus some full-bodied South American wines to accompany.

You can reach Porteno by catching the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra train from King's Cross and hopping off at the Central stop.

2. Inca's Restaurant

Peruvian cuisine is quickly becoming one of the most highly sought-after in Sydney. Inca's Restaurant is one of the best places to try traditional Peruvian cooking, with all the favourites from ceviche to the diverse potato dishes the country is famous for. Of course, your meal wouldn't be complete without a classic pisco sour – or any of the other fabulous pisco cocktails on the menu!

Inca's is located in Darlinghurst, a 20 minute stroll from the Macleay. You can also catch the 311 bus from just outside the hotel.

3. Bodega

Bodega is a tapas bar with a twist – all of the fun and creative dishes are inspired by Latin American cuisine. There are arepas (a Colombian snack made from ground maize), corn tamales and sides of plantain chips. The decor is colourful and friendly, so this is a welcoming place to dine.

Found in Surrey Hills, Bodega is easily reached by either the T4 train or 311 bus.

4. Cantina Movil

This gourmet food truck will let you sample Mexican street food that lives up to the highest Sydney standards. The truck dispenses burritos, nachos and tacos, with delicious fresh fillings such as slow-roasted chipotle beef or guajillo chicken.

The truck roams around the city centre, so you can check their website to find out where they are going to be when you're in town.

The best place to start your tour of Latin American Sydney is the Macleay Hotel. From our central location you will be able to go on an unforgettable gastronomic adventure. Get in touch with us today to find out more or to make a reservation.
