The perfect places to propose in Sydney

Sydney is an incredibly special city to many people, filled with memories of all kinds. And you know, we might be a tad biased, but we think it's one of the most romantic cities in the world, and therefore believe it's the perfect place for you to propose to your significant other in!

There are countless places where you can plot a flawless proposal so we'll help narrow it down to some of our favourite spots around the city. Let's get ready to make some memories!

Propose with a koala bear 

You might not be able to get that little guy to give your significant other the ring, but you don't have to! As you go to take the picture with the koala bear, turn to your S.O. and pop the question. Between the cuteness of the koala bear and the surprise of the question and the romance of the moment, expect there to be a lot of tears (and hopefully a yes). Fortunately, there are a couple of places near The Macleay Hotel that let you see koalas up close and personal, so consider liaising with the staff before you go to set the whole scene up.

On a harbour cruise 

There is hardly anything more romantic than one of the many harbour cruises – that is unless you're adding in the proposal, then there really is nothing more romantic. These cruises are perfect because they take you around the amazing cityscape as the sun sets behind the skyline. Then the city lights give off a iridescent glow that will provide you the ideal mood lighting – the whole scene will be positively angelic. We suggest you don't let it get dark before you propose. Sunset is the most idyllic time, and once it gets dark you can steal away to a corner and just enjoy each other's company.

Imagine it now. You're both stretched on a blanket, sipping champagne, feeding each other strawberries and watching the sun set over the beautiful azure waters that is Bondi Beach. Now, even without the proposal that's an incredibly romantic scenario, if we do say so ourselves. As the sun sets, it'll probably get a little chilly, so as you huddle together for warmth and put your arm around your S.O., pull the ring out at the same time. It's perfect for the couple who doesn't need a lot of flair to their romance, but still promises an incredibly special moment. 

At the Audrey Wilkinson winery

The Audrey Wilkinson winery and vineyard is one of the most picturesque wineries in all in Australia. And the fact that they have some of the best wine in the region doesn't hurt either. A wine tour in general would be the perfect way to lead up to the proposal, so long as your final destination is this winery. As you sip over a glass of their famous chardonnay or shiraz, or even as you stroll through the vineyard, you'll find that there are ample opportunities to pop the question.
