If one of the best parts of Sydney is its amazingly picturesque harbour, then why not get the best of both worlds (the sky and water) by jumping aboard a sea plane. This is the closest to a bird you can get, as these planes take off and land in the water just like a seagull would. Of course, that's only part of the fun, as the rest of the journey you'll likely spend with your nose to the glass looking over the city and over the open water.
Hot air balloon rides
Hot air balloon rides are one of the most underrated ways to tour. Granted that is because the opportunity is not always there, but as it is available in Sydney, we don't think this is an opportunity you can miss! Head to Sydney's wine country, specifically, Hunter Valley and give this exciting mode of transportation a try. There's something incredibly romantic about a hot air balloon ride as well – so if you're taking a special someone on this trip, consider popping the question as you cruise over the vineyards.
Sydney Harbour bridge walk
Ok, so you're not technically airborne for this one, but you do get one of the most unique sky-high views of the city from the top of this bridge. This is one of the more popular tourist attractions in the city, but once you get to the top, you'll quickly see why. The hike itself is fascinatingly fun as the tour guides teach you a bit about the history of the bridge and the city itself.
